Tofu talks about his favorite grooming products, bathing, and grooming routines

In this blog, I’ll share my grooming and bathing routines, as well as some of my favorite products. Mom isn’t a professional dog groomer, but we hope our tips can help other dog owners!
There are pros and cons to grooming at home.
Since I’m a Maltese — a breed that requires a lot of coat care — we find it more efficient and economical to do most of my grooming at home. Plus, I always get the perfect haircut!
How Often Does Tofu Take a Bath?

It depends, but we generally bathe Tofu every 3-6 weeks. In between baths, we use unscented baby wipes or pet wipes to keep him clean and fresh.
Some of our favorite bathing products include a collapsible foot tub from Amazon:

Another tub we would like to recommend is the laundry basket from IKEA.

In between washes, we use unscented baby wipes or pet wipes you can get from pet stores. Here is a picture of our wipes collections. Most of them are bought from Japan and USA, but you can easily find similar ones in your neighborhood stores. We would like to recommend the travel-size pet wipes from petkins that we always have with us in our backpacks. Link here:
What Shampoo do you use?

We travel a lot, so it depends on where we are and what products are available to us. But don't worry we will list them all.
Currently, we are using dog shampoo and conditioner from Kiehl's. I am a big fan since they keep my fur soft and smell really good. However, I think they are only available in certain countries. I have linked the Kiehl's shampoo and conditioner here:

For the USA:
The other shampoo we have also used in the past is the John Paul Pet Oatmeal Conditioning Rinse. Link here:
We also love the Burt's Bee Conditioning Spray. Link here:

For Europe:
We love using Trixie's dog shampoo Link here:
Paired with the detangled spray

And some dry shampoo

What Grooming Tools Do You Use?

Our Grooming tools consist of:
-A set of hairdressers scissors
-An electric hair trimmer set with different comb attachments
You can easily find similar products on amazon.

- Combs (wide-tooth comb, fine-toothed comb, and pin combs)
-A set of grooming comb and flea comb

-de-matting comb (if your dog gets matted hair, this one works really well)

How Do You Keep Your Eye Area So White?

We clean his eye area with a flea comb daily, to reduce gunk build-ups. We sometimes use eye powder to keep the area dry. Link here:
However, other factors such as diet and allergies may contribute to tear stains. Please consult your veterinarian if your pet has excessive tear stains. We think that daily cleaning is key to maintaining the area white and free from tear stains and build-ups.
My Dental Hygiene

Did you know it is recommended to regularly brush your dog's teeth? Although it is not my favorite grooming routine, it is absolutely necessary (since I like to give kisses to people). Mom brushes my teeth every night. We will link the toothpaste here:
It is recommended to us that toothpaste is best if it has enzymatic ingredients. The toothbrush we currently use is a kid's toothbrush but there are many options out there depending on what your dog likes the most.
And that concludes our grooming blog. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or reach out to us on Instagram! Thank you for reading!
